Mark Gilbert founded Mark’s Bookkeeping Services in 2000. With entrepreneurship in his veins, Mark worked at his family’s candy store and luncheonette as a kid and dabbled in every industry from ophthalmology to real estate to printing and beyond. His colorful journey includes living in Tucson and Los Angles, attending Burning Man in the Nevada desert, and seeing the millennium in on the beach in Ko Samui, Thailand. Today, he enjoys supporting commercial and non-profit clients from a wide range of businesses through MBS ATA.
A California transplant, Julie graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She held the role of Senior Accountant at the L.A.-based consumer electronics company Kanex before moving to New York City to take on her position at MBS ATA. An active member of the National Association of Professional Women, Julie loves to travel, meet new people, and spend time with her Chihuahua. Her favorite quote is by Stephen Denny: “Trust is built on credibility, and credibility comes from acting in other’ interests’ before your own.
As the head of partnerships, Michael is tasked with acquiring new clients, maintaining existing relationships, and connecting clients to industry service providers. Prior to MBS ATA, Michael held positions at private equity and banking companies. He is product of the City University of New York's (CUNY) Computer Science Undergraduate Program and is experienced in management, due diligence, and business valuations. He enjoys exploring new restaurants with his wife, traveling, and finding moments of zen on the golf course whenever possible.
With MBS ATA for nearly 15 years, Peter is responsible for evaluating prospective clients, authoring proposals for accounting support, managing a portfolio of clients, assisting clients during the audit process, and performing comptroller and CFO duties on his clients’ behalf. Prior to joining MBS ATA, Peter worked in banking with the most recent position of Vice President. He holds an MBA in finance and investment from Baruch College and has worked toward the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, having passed all three required CFA exams.
Scott’s role at MBS ATA is to onboard new clients, work on special high-complexity projects, and supervise a team of accounting associates who work with clients he manages. He also acts as a CFO for clients with needs that extend beyond regular bookkeeping. A lover of the arts, Scott majored in film at college and appreciates seeing the inner workings of so many different kinds of businesses. He enjoys using his problem-solving skills to help clients understand their business in ways they hadn't considered before—including how to run things more efficiently.
Brendan provides accounting support to some MBS ATA’s longest-running clients in addition to managing office staff and training new hires and interns. His passion for technology drives him to explore forward-thinking business solutions, including implementing new client-facing dashboards. Brendan graduated with a degree in Accounting from Siena College, in Loudonville, NY and has certifications in both QuickBooks and Xero. He prides himself on not fretting over the small stuff and always tries to look at the big picture.
